This privacy policy discloses the privacy practices for AstraHomes. It covers what personal information we collect and how it is used and shared, what choices you have about your data, how we protect it, and how you can correct it.

Information we collect, use, and share

To create an account, you provide information such as your name, email address, and phone number, through our authentication provider, Clerk. We do not see or store your password. If you use the natural-language search bar, the text you type is used to find matching listings. We use PostHog to understand how the site is used — for example, which pages are visited and which buttons are clicked — so we can find what is broken or confusing. Once group matching is live, we will store who you invite, which listings your group swipes on, and the matches that result, so the feature can work.

The demo swipe card on the home page is different: it runs entirely in your browser using sample listings, and nothing you swipe there is saved, sent to a server, or tied to your account.

We are the sole owner of the information collected through AstraHomes. We do not sell or rent your information. Account data is held by Clerk, and product data, once features that need it are live, is held in a Supabase database — both process it as service providers on our behalf, not for their own marketing purposes. We will not share your information with anyone outside AstraHomes other than as necessary to respond to your request (for example, a real estate professional following up on a listing inquiry) or as described in this policy. Unless you ask us not to, we may contact you by email about listing updates, new features, or changes to this policy.

MLS® data and information sharing with TRREB

Listing details shown on AstraHomes come from MLS® data licensed through the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board (TRREB) and PropTx. See the MLS disclaimer for how that data is licensed and its limits. You agree that your personal information — including your first and last name, email address, and phone number — may be collected, used, or disclosed, including being shared with PropTx and TRREB, for auditing or legal purposes related to your use of the MLS® data.

Your access to and control over your information

You may opt out of future contact from us at any time. You can do the following by reaching us through the contact page:

• See what data we have about you, if any.
• Correct any data we have about you.
• Ask us to delete any data we have about you.
• Close your account, which removes your profile and group membership.
• Raise any concern you have about how we use your data.

Data retention

We keep account and product data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, your profile and group membership are removed; some records may be kept longer where needed for legal, security, or accounting reasons.

Security

We take precautions to protect your information, online and offline. Sensitive information is encrypted in transit — look for “https” and a lock icon in your browser's address bar. We restrict access to production data to the people who need it to operate AstraHomes, and rely on our service providers' security controls (Clerk for authentication, Supabase for data storage).

Children's privacy

AstraHomes is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as AstraHomes changes. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
